Day 72 - Mon 26 May 08
Up and out of my friendly hostel, it would be a nice place if not for the sleeping Olympics that they are running. Wondered around Sofia before heading up the station at about 17:00. I found carriage 782 which looks very nice sitting on a platform with no engine, trouble is I'm in carriage 781 which is a bit older but not so bad. There's only three berths per cabin and it's identical to the one I came up from Istanbul in the other night. Weirdly it's the same conductor from Istanbul. I didn't spot him straight away, but when he was looking at my passport he chuckled and said 'Istanbul' and then I recognised him.
Sofia is another city with snow capped mountains at the end of the road. I've seen loads of them on this trip. The train left on time with only about seven other people in my carriage. I've managed to break the sun glasses that I bought in Tehran. Oh well, easy come easy go.
